Free Water Testing for St. Louis Homes and Facilities

Your water probably looks fine. Clear, no smell, no obvious problems. That’s how hard water, PFAS, lead, and chlorine go unnoticed for years – quietly shortening appliance life, drying out skin and hair, and building up in every glass your family fills from the tap. We’ll come to your home or facility, test your water on-site, and show you exactly what’s in it before we leave.

How a Professional Water Test Works

We bring testing equipment directly to your home or facility and pull samples from your taps and water supply. Hardness, chlorine, pH, dissolved solids, and contaminant indicators are all measured on-site.

You see the numbers as they come in, and we walk you through what each one means before we leave. The whole process takes about 15–20 minutes.

What Your Water Test Reveals

Hardness (Calcium & Magnesium): We measure the mineral content that causes scale buildup inside your pipes, water heater, dishwasher, and washing machine. High hardness shortens appliance lifespan and leaves film on fixtures and dishes. Most St. Louis homes test well above the recommended range.

Chlorine Levels: Municipal water in the St. Louis area is treated with chlorine that stays in your water all the way to your taps. It dries out skin and hair, gives drinking water a chemical taste, and wears down fixtures over time. We’ll measure exactly how much is coming through your lines.

PFAS (“Forever Chemicals”): Industrial compounds that don’t break down. They’ve been found in water supplies across the Midwest, and standard municipal treatment doesn’t remove them. A water test shows whether your home’s supply is affected.

Lead: Common in older St. Louis homes with aging pipes and solder joints. Even low concentrations affect children’s development and long-term health. Standard faucet filters miss it — reverse osmosis is required to take it out.

pH & Total Dissolved Solids: We measure overall water balance to check for acidity that corrodes pipes and elevated dissolved solids that affect taste, clarity, and appliance performance.

Equipment Scale & Mineral Damage: Hard water builds up inside ice machines, dish machines, steamers, coffee equipment, and cooling systems. Scale reduces efficiency and shortens equipment life. We measure the mineral load coming into your building so you can protect what you’ve invested in.

Contaminant Levels for Compliance: Healthcare facilities, labs, and food service operations have water quality requirements tied to licensing and safety standards. Our test identifies contaminants that could affect compliance, product quality, or sterilization processes.

Process Water Quality: Manufacturing, brewing, and lab operations depend on consistent water quality. Fluctuations in dissolved solids, mineral content, or chemical presence affect output and testing accuracy. A baseline water test shows exactly where your supply stands.

Product Quality Consistency: Restaurants, cafés, and breweries rely on steady water quality. Contaminants change flavor, appearance, and results batch to batch. Testing establishes a baseline so you know what you’re working with.

Local technicians who know St. Louis water

St. Louis has its own water quirks — limestone hardness east of the river, chlorine levels that spike seasonally, older homes with lead solder. Our technicians have tested thousands of local homes and facilities. They know what to look for.

We install the best systems on the market

Kinetico systems run on water pressure instead of electricity. No timers, no motors, fewer failure points. RO membranes remove up to 99% of contaminants. What You Should Know Before Scheduling a Water Test

Most homeowners and facility managers want clarity on what the test covers and what happens afterward. These are the questions we hear most often.
How long does a water test take?
Most tests are done in about 15–20 minutes. We test directly from your taps, walk you through the results on the spot, and answer any questions before we leave.
What does the water test cost?
Nothing. The test is free with no purchase required. You get your results regardless of whether you decide to install a system.
What exactly do you test for?
We measure hardness (calcium and magnesium), chlorine, pH, total dissolved solids, and indicators for contaminants like PFAS and lead. For facilities, we also assess mineral load on equipment and process water quality.
Do I get my results right away?
Yes. We test on-site and show you the numbers before we leave. No samples sent to a lab, no waiting for a report.
What happens if my water tests fine?
We tell you. If your water looks good, there’s no reason to install a system. You walk away with free information about what’s coming through your taps.
Do I have to buy something after the test?
No. The test is informational. If treatment makes sense for your situation, we’ll explain your options. If it doesn’t, we’ll say that too. No follow-up pressure.
Can you test my water if I already have a softener or filter?
Yes. We can test both your incoming water and your treated water to see if your current system is performing the way it should. If something looks off, we’ll let you know what might need attention.
Do you test well water or just city water?
Both. Well water and municipal water have different issues. Well water often carries higher mineral content, iron, and sediment, while city water typically brings chlorine and disinfection byproducts. The test covers whatever supply you’re pulling from.
